My Life Was Changed Forever

Hi! My name is Annie Flaherty, I’m a fourth year graduate student from Dalhousie University, Halifax Nova Scotia. I’m 21 years old. I’m originally from Toronto, Ontario. I have two younger brothers. My background is in English and Theatre Studies so I’m very passionate about the performing arts. I love to act, sing, and dance! I love musicals. I have a LOT of energy and I’m very outgoing. I like running, and playing team sports like hockey, soccer, volleyball, track, cross-country and ultimate frisbee. I love playing the piano. I have a weird sense of humor, and I’m easily excitable. I really enjoy reading and writing. I like being outside. I love finding creative ways to expend my energy like organizing or planning events, writing songs, journaling, and socializing. I love learning new things and meeting new people. I love leading group activities. I’m a certified Zumba instructor. I really enjoy public speaking. One of my favorite things in the world is ketchup. I love to laugh and I appreciate all jokes. I love watching movies and I often do a lot of impressions of my favourite movies. I love going to adoration and praise and worship. I love chocolate, high fives, hugs, puppies and just about everything, with the exception of olives (:
This year, I had a personal encounter with Jesus at a CCO fall retreat that changed my life forever. Ever since then, I’ve been on fire for sharing my faith with others and reaching out to students like myself, in hopes that they might come to know Jesus in a personal way just like I did. My goal for this year is to grow in faith, and to go out into the world and give back by dedicating all of my time and energy to evangelization. I hope to use all of my gifts to inspire others. I feel so blessed to have had so many opportunities in my life such as completing my undergraduate degree and finding such a vibrant Catholic community that I have a burning desire to share my love of God with others. Nothing brings me greater joy than serving God and sharing my faith so I’m super excited to be working on campus with CCO this year at The University of Saskatchewan! I can’t wait to become acquainted with Saskatoon, and I am so looking forward to meeting you!
