In 2023, CCO launched a new 10 Year Vision: “To Activate Multiplying Leaders toward the Fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission”. The decade from 2023 to 2033 is an important opportunity and grace as we anticipate a Great Jubilee in 2033, marking the 2000th anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As we look ahead, we view the next 9 years leading to 2033 as a novena of years – 9 years to pray and work diligently as we approach the Great Jubilee. During each year we will invoke the intercession of specific patron saints to inspire our efforts. In this current year (2024-25), we have chosen the Canadian Martyrs as our patrons. Their witness and missionary efforts, laid the foundation for our faith in Canada.

2025 also marks the 400th year of St. Jean de Brebeuf coming to Canada on mission and 100 years since the Beatification of the Martyrs and the establishment of the Martyr’s Shrine in Midland. As such, we want to bring all of CCO together in prayer for their Canadian feast day, September 26th (note that the universal church recognizes their feast on October 19th).

We invite you to pray with us for their intercession as we work to fulfill our mission. Check out the daily video reflections from September 18-26 found at:

Daily Novena Prayer

Dear Saints Isaac Jogues, Jean de Brébeuf, Noël Chabanel, Gabriel Lalemant, Antoine Daniel, Charles Garnier, René Goupil and Jean de Lalande, we’re grateful that you brought the Gospel to Canada. As we continue your legacy of evangelization, we beg you to pray for all to have an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news of salvation. We also ask you to pray that missionary hearts would be stirred up in our days – people who will respond generously to Our Lord’s call to go wherever He tells them to go, to do whatever He asks them to do, to say whatever He wants them to say.

Holy Canadian Martyrs, our big brothers in mission, pray for us!
