Hi there! My name is Amanda Massia and I am a fourth year student at Carleton University studying Global and International Studies. Like many others, I was raised in a Catholic family but I fell away from the faith. I first encountered CCO in my first year at Carleton and, at that time, I didn’t have a tangible relationship with the Lord. Honestly, I was questioning whether I truly believed in God. Through the invitation to take a Discovery faith study, I rediscovered my relationship with the Lord. Through all of my Catholic formation, I was never told that God desired a personal relationship with me. I was struck. I was invited to put Christ at the centre of my life and that decision, that yes, opened the door to true joy and freedom. That one faith study led to taking another… and then another and I now serve on the student executive as President for the Carleton chapter of CCO. Through that one yes, my whole life changed. I now have the privilege of inviting other women on my campus to take a faith study and share the same invitation that was shared with me 3 years ago.

As Christians, we are all called to share the Good News of the gospel. Not just in our homes, on our campuses or workplaces but everywhere. “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38) My heart longs for each person to receive the same invitation that was shared with me. I have heard the Lord calling me to be a labourer in his harvest and I am so excited to take the first step in that by being a member of the Honduras 2020 mission team.

I would ask that you please consider supporting me and the rest of the Honduras 2020 mission team financially and through your prayers. I would like to thank supporters, like you, for making both my work and this mission possible.

God Bless!
