About me

Hello, my name is Anastasia, but many people also know me as Stacie! (Chatime also calls me Spici, but that’s a story for another time).

I am currently in my second year at Carleton University, where I am majoring in music and minoring in Korean. Whenever I am not practicing piano or studying I can be found reading or gushing about Tolkien, singing, or talking some poor soul’s ear off. One fun fact about me is that my dad is a Ukrainian Catholic priest! This meant that my faith has always been a big part of my life, as I sang in (and led!) my church choir, helped at church events, and assisted in events at other Catholic churches in my community. I joined CCO in my first year at Carleton, taking Discovery (the first CCO faith study). However, it wasn’t until this school year that I finally took the leap and invited Jesus to be at the center of my life. I’m excited to further build my relationship with Him, and going on mission is an exciting opportunity for me to deepen my faith and strengthen my trust in Him.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

Throughout my second year at Carleton, I have been blessed to have been mentored by the amazing missionaries and leadership team on my campus. These experiences have left me with the desire to share my faith with others and to help them build and develop their own personal relationship with Christ. I initially did not plan on applying for mission, believing that I would not be good enough. However, a little encouragement from my campus leaders and some nudging from the Holy Spirit gave me the courage to submit an application, and then when it was accepted, to say yes. I can’t wait to go to Uganda to share my faith with those there, learning and growing alongside them in the process.

While Catholic Christian Outreach seeks to honour the expressed preference of each gift, I acknowledge that my gift is a gift to the ministry of Catholic Christian Outreach and will be used by Catholic Christian Outreach in a manner that it believes will best advance its charitable purposes. If my preference changes, it is my responsibility to inform Catholic Christian Outreach.

CCO is a registered Canadian charity (#13782 4363 RR0001) and income tax receipts are issued in February of each year.
