My Story
Hi! My name is Boneh. I am a Nigerian and a fourth-year student at Carleton University, studying Global and International Studies with a specialization in Global Media and Communication. Right now, my favorite thing to do is successfully play a song on my guitar. Fun fact: I started learning during COVID and have been self-teaching ever since!
I joined CCO in January 2023, during a time when I was searching for a Catholic community. Honestly, answering that call was one of the best things the Holy Spirit has ever prompted me to do. I have built meaningful friendships, strengthened my faith, and come to appreciate the beauty of walking with others in Christ.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
Someone told me I could have a personal, intimate relationship with God, and it sparked something within me. I wanted to show up. I wanted to try. I wanted to open the door for the Lord, but I didn’t know how, or where to start. Then I was told that Jesus was already waiting for me, and if I looked closely, I’d see His hand in everything around me. All I had to do to begin the journey with him was invite Him into my heart. So, I did, and I continue to. I want to go on mission because I believe many Christians don’t realize how deep their relationship with Jesus can go. He died for you—specifically, for you. There is so much to be found when we walk in the light of His love. I want to share that truth, to encourage anyone who feels they’ve been away too long. No matter where you are in life, He’s waiting at the door of your heart, always patient, always kind, ever the gentleman. He loves you.
