My Story
Hi! I’m Bridget, and I’m currently in my first year of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa. I was born in Saskatchewan, but I moved to Ottawa as a baby, and I’m the 4th of 6 kids, so there’s never a dull moment at home! I’ve always loved staying active, whether it’s walking, biking, playing basketball, or skiing. Community has always been important to me too. In high school, I helped organize Bible clubs and was a leader in my parish youth group. Now at university, I’m involved with CCO, where I lead a faith study and am also taking one myself.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
I’m excited to go on mission with CCO because I really want to grow in my relationship with Jesus and get to know Him better. I believe a key part of that growth is embracing holiness and stepping out in mission. Over the past few months, the idea of going on mission has come up in so many ways—during my faith study, at Rise Up, with the uOttawa missionaries, and even in conversations with friends. When I heard about this mission to Malta, and after some prayer, I knew the Lord was calling me to go. I’m so excited to see how the Lord will use me this summer, especially as I get to be surrounded by other young Catholics, spreading God’s Word and love to as many hearts as possible.
