My Story
Hi there! My name is Christine, though you may hear my loved ones call me Tin. I moved from Niagara Falls to study at the University of Toronto (Scarborough) and I just finished my Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree, Specializing in English. My conversion happened during my first-year upon reading 33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Michael Gaitley. Through Mary, I invited Jesus to be at the centre of my life on December 12, 2019, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe! Presently, I hope to become a teacher and I am inspired by St. Pope John Paul II’s “Letter to Artists.” This letter spoke to me as a lover of art (especially music and writing!), since he highlights education as the greatest art form.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
When reflecting on my journey with CCO, I remembered how I was drawn towards CCO’s Five Tenets: Heart for the World, One Person at a Time, The Gospel Clear and Simple, Great Expectations, and University Students. I believe that Jesus has been cultivating in me a heart for the world, specifically those who are lost and without hope. Since my conversion in 2019, I felt moved to serve His children within different ministries and missionary positions. When I attended Rise Up 2024 in Calgary, however, I did not expect the Holy Spirit’s prompting for me to apply for CCO’s Jubilee Mission! Like Mary, I wanted to give Him my “yes.” With faith, I know that Jesus will move in the hearts of so many people throughout this Jubilee Year. I am so excited to see how He will move in my heart, too, and to encounter His love in a new and profound way during this mission.
Help Christine Make Jesus Known
While Catholic Christian Outreach seeks to honour the expressed preference of each gift, I acknowledge that my gift is a gift to the ministry of Catholic Christian Outreach and will be used by Catholic Christian Outreach in a manner that it believes will best advance its charitable purposes. If my preference changes, it is my responsibility to inform Catholic Christian Outreach.
