Cisilia Cyril K.

Joyous day! My name is Cisilia and I am from Belleville Ontario. I am also a first year at Queen’s University for Arts and Sciences. I was born into a very faithful family. However, despite the beautiful examples set before me of Holy Catholic people of God I was lukewarm in my faith. I knew God existed but I held off on choosing to fully believe in him. In his abundant goodness he waited for me and when he made me understand who he was it was as if a floodgate of graces had opened. I then understood his goodness.
It has now been a few months but I have taken my faith into my first year here at Queens University. I immediately signed myself up for faith studies and surrounded myself with a wonderful Catholic community on campus. Since coming here the Lord has blessed me to learn more in order to equip myself to be his servant.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

This past summer, while on retreat, I came to know the Lord personally and I knew that I wanted to fall more and more in love with him and glorify him with all that I had. Since that retreat I have been dwelling in his goodness and aching to serve him! I prayed to the Lord about going on mission this year but also knew that his will would be done. In the meantime I found myself wanting to glorify him in everything I did and through his grace I was put in positions to do so. In those moments I would think of what St. Dominic Savio would say, “I can’t do big things. But I want all I do, even the smallest thing, to be for the greater glory of God.”
I am so grateful to God that he is sending me on mission to Rome this Jubilee year. I know his plan for me will be so great and I am so excited to see what it is!
May all that I do and say glorify him!
