About me

Hello! My name is Elizabeth du Quesnay, and I am a first-year student studying Second Language Teaching (FSL) at uOttawa. I’ve lived in Ottawa with my parents and three younger brothers my whole life. I love literature and languages, particularly French and English (but I also took a Latin course last semester – it was awesome!). My favourite books are J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. I go to St. Mary’s Parish in Ottawa, and I’m involved in the parish youth group as a leader.

And I absolutely love Jesus! I was raised Catholic, and I always loved the Faith, but I didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus until grade 9. I was struggling in my life, and I was angry with God. I complained to Him and somehow, He used that to draw close to me. I began by blaming God and I ended up praising Him!

Why do I want to be on Mission?

I got involved with CCO on my campus this year and fell in love with their mission: to equip students to lead their peers into the Ultimate Relationship with Jesus. I’ve grown a lot in my faith and prayer life since my conversion, and during CCO’s Discovery faith study, I felt really convicted to take the next step. The love of Jesus is too wonderful to keep to myself! The Lord calls each person to be a missionary, and He calls me too (wow!). I am so excited to share His love with young Catholics from all over the world in Portugal!

While Catholic Christian Outreach seeks to honour the expressed preference of each gift, I acknowledge that my gift is a gift to the ministry of Catholic Christian Outreach and will be used by Catholic Christian Outreach in a manner that it believes will best advance its charitable purposes. If my preference changes, it is my responsibility to inform Catholic Christian Outreach.

CCO is a registered Canadian charity (#13782 4363 RR0001) and income tax receipts are issued in February of each year.
