Hello, my name is Evan Cassidy and I am excited to be a participant in CCO’s World Youth Day (WYD) Mission to Panama! As a young professional and proud CCO Alumni I’m looking forward to participating in this mission, represent Canada, and grow in faith.

I first got involved with CCO in Kingston as a Civil Engineering student at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. I grew up Catholic and wanted to find something more. Newman house, the Catholic chaplaincy on campus, was a place where I found people who had a radical love for their faith & eagerly wanted to share it with others. Every Thursday night at Newman House there would be a 5:30pm mass followed by a community dinner along with many other events and small group faith studies throughout the school year. I ended up serving on Student Executive for two years and was a team leader on CCO’s WYD Mission to Madrid back in 2011. Being a part of the dynamic community of young Catholics was extremely formative and helped shape the man I am today; someone who wants to strive for professional success, share that success with others and help build the Church.

I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting this mission. World Youth Day is a global event, with an average of one million plus participants. It strengthens participants reminding them of their call to be saints and return home to be leaders in their parishes and faith communities. When you go on a CCO mission you’re there not only to participate in WYD but also to serve. I hope to practice missionary outreach and learn how to effectively use the tools CCO provides to share the gospel with others.

We lead evangelization missions around the world.
