My Story
Hi my name is Fredcine and I’m a 2nd year student at Mount Royal University. I’m currently majoring in Sociology in hopes of becoming a family and children welfare social worker or a foster care social worker after I graduate. I love music and playing instruments, and writing songs alongside with it. I also love the outdoors.. whether those are hikes, a day in the mountains, or just a short walk outside on a sunny day.
I’ve always grown up with God in my life. My whole life I have been going to church with my family. But it was not until my first year of university that I started wanting God in the centre of my life for me. I am also the oldest child out of 3 kids, and by being close to God, I pray to make an impact in the heart’s of my little siblings and to show them his love and goodness. Joining CCO has been so rewarding and fruitful and has been the reason why I have decided to take on a mission trip. I am so blessed to be called to this opportunity.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
The thought of mission actually used to scare me or even the thought of me being on one. Not because of my safety or the physical possibilities, but the spiritual and mental aspects. I used to think that there are more people out there who deserved a spot on mission more than me. It wasn’t until I heard a lesson during one of the faith studies I took, talking about holiness and taking on a missionary heart that really inspired me to go to Malta. I’m so grateful because it was basically a prayer answered. Mission is such a big opportunity because of the things we do on it. Everyone deserves to know the Lord and how he shows up for us in all different ways, I heard that when you know God but you don’t share about it to others, it’s almost selfish as we’re depriving others of knowing about him. Being on mission and helping others have a relationship with God is one thing but doing it with love and will as the centre of intention is what’s most important. Growing up I have always resonated with 1 Corinthians 16:14 where it says to do everything in love. And I truly believe that when you do things in love, things will always work out.
