Hi there, my name is Gabrielle MacLellan, but lots of people call me Gabby. I am from a small town in south-central Manitoba and am in my fourth year of education at the University of Winnipeg. When I graduate in 2024 I hope to teach students between kindergarten and grade four. In the future I would love to get my master’s in special needs education. This year I have had the pleasure of serving on the CCO UWinnipeg executive team. I was raised in the Catholic Church, but by the time I was in university, I was no longer growing in my faith. In my third year of university, a friend from high school introduced me to CCO, and I was able to become closer to the Lord once again. I have again found my passion for bringing others closer to Christ and have taken the opportunity to start a youth and young adults program in my home Parish.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
I decided last year that it was not the time for me to go on mission. Come October, I already had the itch to go on a mission. When I heard about Halifax, I was over the moon. Nova Scotia holds a special place in my heart as it is my dad’s home province. I have seen the Lord work in many students on my Campus and am excited to bring the drive this has given me to Halifax. A personal desire of mine is to help others find Christ. Going on a mission to Halifax will allow me to gain skills that can help me shine the light of Christ to others. Thank you for your prayers for myself and those I will meet on mission and your consideration for supporting me on this journey.
