Hi! My name is Geneva Guinsatao! I am a third year Bachelor of Science student at Mount Royal University. I love being active and going to the gym, participating in enlightening conversations, being in nature, listening to music, spending time with friends and family and how I can be of help to bring more love and healing into this world. Above all, I love Jesus and I am beyond excited and blessed to be part of this year’s CCO NYC mission!

I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta from a loving Filipino Catholic household. Being a cradle Catholic, I always knew that there was something more in this life, and that deep in my heart I was called to love and be loved by a loving Father.

However, in the year of 2016, I found myself in a season of ‘why’ which was when I began to take my faith and autonomy more seriously. In the irony of discovering more of my autonomy I found myself heavily influenced by a life of culture, loneliness and emptiness. In hopes to change my life, I started being more involved in CCO starting with faith studies, to attending monthly summits, the Encounter retreat and experiencing more of the blessed practices of the Catholic Church such as adoration, and praying the holy rosary. In the summer of 2019, through the power and grace of the Holy Rosary, I gave my heart to Jesus and invited Him to be at the centre of my life.

Since my decision, I have been blessed with an opportunity to lead in faith studies through outreach and with friends and family. I’ve seen firsthand how a relationship with Jesus can radically change the hearts and lives of those around me, and with the support and encouragement of CCO missionaries on campus, I chose to take a big step in my faith and fully surrender my life and heart to the Lord through mission and a total abandonment to Him.
Becoming a missionary has been a lifelong dream of mine, with the hopes to become part of ‘Doctors without Borders’ one day, I know that the Lord will use me in His perfect way as ‘I will go wherever He wants me to go, I will do whatever He wants me to do and I will say whatever He wants me to say”.

If you’d like to journey with me on this mission, any support through your prayers or financial support would be greatly appreciated, as I have hope that this is the beginning to a new life and light in Christ for many! Thank you for your time and your support.

God Bless & Take Care,
Geneva
