My name is Greta Racco and I am finishing up the fourth year of my Bachelor of Music degree as part of the Concurrent Education program at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. I am preparing to transition into my Bachelor of Education degree which will start in the Fall. After participating in CCO’s first mission to Honduras in May 2017, I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to be going back! The 2017 mission was a truly amazing experience that deepened my relationship with God and stretched me in many different ways, and I cannot wait to see what He has in store this time.

I was raised in a Catholic family that nurtured me in the Faith. I was involved in youth groups at my parish, a major highlight of my middle- and secondary-school years. As time went on, however, several factors in my life began to drive me apart from God. I began to think that He had abandoned me and that I was better off without Him.

In the middle of my first year of university – when my life under this idea that I could live without God slowly began to fall apart – I went in search for what I had been rejecting quite some time: Catholic community. In this search I quickly found CCO and signed up for one of its faith study. It was through this faith study that I truly discovered a different side of God’s love, a love that was simple and personal, a love into which He was specifically inviting me. I have spent the last three years growing into this new-found relationship with the ever-constantly loving Father, and sharing this Good News with others in any which way that I can.

I am looking forward to, yet again, stepping out of my comfort zone on this mission and letting the Holy Spirit work in me to accomplish the Will of the Father. I want to bring Christ to as many people as I can and to continue building friendships with the Honduran students that I met last time. I also look forward to getting to know my fellow mission participants and growing in friendship with them.

I would kindly ask you to consider supporting me financially (through donations of any amount) in this mission. Know that you will be in my prayers, and I ask you to keep me and the entire mission in yours.

In Christ and with love,
Greta Racco

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (1 Corinthians 12:9)
