Hunter M.

Hey! My name is Hunter and I’m a third year undergrad law student studying at Carleton University in Ottawa. I’m originally from Peterborough and I plan on going into law as a profession after I graduate next year.
I’ve been with CCO since January 2024 when I first joined the discovery faith study and met a lot of really great people who I’ve gotten even closer with since then. I joined the RCIA program at my Ottawa parish, Blessed Sacrament in the fall and will be getting confirmed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Mass this coming April. I’m currently leading my own discovery faith study and also taking the growth faith study this semester.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

I didn’t grow up religious and none of my family is either. I found God when I was alone at a low point in my life 2 years ago and have slowly been walking towards Him since. When I met all my friends now in CCO last year I had a complete shift in perspective for who I want to surround myself with in my life and I realized how good God is, even if my family hasn’t seen that yet. I want to go on mission so I can tell the people who feel alone that they aren’t and that God wants them to choose Him out of love and build a relationship with Him out of faith. I hope to make a small difference in the lives of the people I meet.
