I am a student at Toronto Metropolitan University, majoring in Nursing. I was born and raised in Hong Kong before moving to Toronto at 16. As a cradle Catholic raised in a non-practicing family, I was aware of God, but my understanding was filled with misconceptions. I was curious about God and longed for His love, but I believed it came with a price, and I would never be good enough to be loved by Him. I encountered God at my parish’s youth retreat in Grade 11. During a talk, the speaker mentioned the story of the lost sheep, and I realised for the first time that God loves me unconditionally. I felt the urgency to go to confession to restore my broken relationship with God, where He generously showered me with His infinite mercy and changed my life. When I went to university, I discovered CCO at the Toronto Met Catholics Student House, where I met others who are also on fire for Christ. This grew the fire within me to share my faith and to live the Mission with my whole life.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

Since going on a mission to Belize last year, I am lit on fire for mission – to go out there, to be present to God’s children, and to spread the Word that God is good and He loves us personally. I felt compelled to go to Rome when I heard we would share the Ultimate Relationship. So many people go to Rome to sightsee beautiful churches, but how many know God personally? They are so close to Jesus, yet their hearts are distanced from Him. I want to evangelise and let them know God’s unfathomable love and His beautiful plan for them.
