About me

I’m Janna Ballesteros and I am a second year Nursing student at Dalhousie University in Halifax. I am from the Philippines and I immigrated to Canada in 2013. I love road trips, family movie nights, visiting new churches, musicals, and going to mass with friends. I also love meeting new people and sharing my faith with others!

My CCO family has become such a large part of my life in such a short time. They have helped me discern my calling to join the mission this year and have also encouraged me to share my faith with others. During a night of prayer and worship hosted by CCO, I felt God speaking to me as He extended his hand and asked me to share my faith with the Children of God. With my “yes” I have since desired to share my story with others so that God may be able to touch their lives as He has touched mine.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

During COVID, I realized that God was the only consistent factor in my life. He remained faithful and became my beacon of light in the troubling times of isolation, and as a result, my relationship with Him was the greatest it could ever be. The Discovery faith study showed me that I still had so much to learn and more wisdom to receive. My CCO family also showed me that there is only so much I can do on my own and that in order to grow as a daughter of God, I must also grow in the Church and serve His people. I strongly desire to share His word and witness his Church grow closer to Christ.

I received the invitation to mission from the Lord through Romans 10:14-15: “But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent?”. I am confident that God has sent me to proclaim His Word and to play a role in His plans for His Church on World Youth Day. I would like to kindly invite you to support me, through financial support or through prayer. This would not be possible without your prayers and your support, and I would like to invite you to join me in building Christ’s Church.

While Catholic Christian Outreach seeks to honour the expressed preference of each gift, I acknowledge that my gift is a gift to the ministry of Catholic Christian Outreach and will be used by Catholic Christian Outreach in a manner that it believes will best advance its charitable purposes. If my preference changes, it is my responsibility to inform Catholic Christian Outreach.
