Jazmin P.G.

Hi! I’m Jazmin, a second-year Biomedical Science student at Trent University. I come from a big, loving family of five girls, and I’m the second oldest. I was raised in a Catholic home where faith was part of our everyday life. I’m truly grateful to both my parents and grandparents, who have played a big role in shaping my faith. Through their example, love, and constant reminder of God’s presence, they’ve helped me build the foundation that continues to guide me today.

Even with that, I realized I hadn’t yet formed a personal relationship with Jesus. I was doing the right things on the outside, but something was missing. When I moved away for university, that became clearer. Without my family there, it became easier to drift, and when I did show up to church, I often felt out of place. I’d see mostly older couples or families, and I couldn’t help feeling like I didn’t belong.

Everything shifted when I found CCO during Clubs Day and joined a faith study. What started as something I joined out of curiosity became something that changed my life. The community helped me realize I wasn’t alone, and after my second faith study, I made the decision to place Christ at the center of my life.

Since then, I’ve grown so much, trying new things, stepping out in confidence, and no longer feeling embarrassed to talk about my faith. For the first time, my relationship with Jesus feels real and personal. This mission is my chance to share that same joy with others. Why do I want to be on Mission?

Through my family and the wonderful community I’ve found with the Trent Catholics, I’ve come to truly understand how important fellowship and community are in our faith. Being surrounded by others who love Christ has helped me grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally. Their support and encouragement have deepened my faith in ways I never expected, and I’ve experienced the beauty of walking alongside people who genuinely want to grow closer to Him. It’s shown me that we were never meant to do this journey alone.

I want to be on this mission because I know what it feels like to be searching for something more, and I want to help others find what I’ve found in Christ. This is a chance for me to give back, to be there for others the way people have been there for me. Opportunities like this don’t come often, and I want to make the most of it by stepping out in faith and allowing God to work through me in whatever way He wants.
