Hello! My name is Jillian Pittman, and I am from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. I am currently studying sciences at Dalhousie University in aim to develop a career in the health care field. A few things I enjoy include drawing, walks though nature, and spending time with my family.
Three years ago, through the words and wisdom of my uncle, I had a profound deepening in my faith in God. I went from having a vague understanding of spirituality to understanding Jesus and the freedom He brings to life. The Catholic faith changed my perspective on life providing a deeper meaning I didn’t realize I was longing for.
During my time with Catholic Christian Outreach last fall, I was able to take my faith to the next level by entering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Although, I heard of having a personal relationship with Jesus in the past, it wasn’t until my time with CCO alongside the guidance of my missionary that I was able to develop this spiritual skill.
I am so beyond thankful for the people in my life who allowed my faith to flourish!
Why do I want to be on Mission?
Thinking back to when I was first introduced to Catholicism, my faith was like a mustard seed planted through the wisdom of my uncle. The small seed of faith grew over time, watered, and tended by the faithful people around me. I would not be where I am today without the courageous people in my life who shared the gospel with me. These people have inspired me to go on mission to help others deepen their faith.
I am confident that Jesus has a plan for this mission and that lives will be forever changed!
Please send your prayers to the CCO missionaries, God Bless!
