My Story
Hi!
My name is John Paul and I’m 19 years old. I am a student at the University of Winnipeg majoring in Mathematics and Education. Whenever I’m not in university, I enjoy serving as a youth leader for CFC Youth, often pastoring other young leaders or organizing and planning faith-based events. I love exploring the outdoors, watching movies and learning how they were made, and reading nonfiction books, but most of all, I’m obsessed with music! In my spare time, you’d hear me endlessly composing songs or listening to music from all sorts of different genres.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
Over the past year, I’m so blessed to say I have fallen deeper in my faith – more than I could have ever imagined. From lukewarm to hot, my heart has been on fire to learn more about my faith and how to live life growing closer and closer to Christ. To me, saying “yes” to this mission was a “yes” to God’s will and his plan for me despite the uncertainty and the unknown. I want nothing more than to share the joy that I have received from knowing the love of Christ with my brothers and sisters around me. Going to Rome is an opportunity to be a light to the nations but also for me to face my fear of the unknown and to fully trust in the providence and goodness of God.
