Hello, my name is Joseph Nguyen. I am from Ottawa and I am currently in my fourth year of biomedical science at the University of Ottawa.

I grew up in a Catholic household and attended mass every Sunday but I never took my faith seriously until I entered my second year of university where I joined CCO. From there, everything changed. I was enlightened by the word of the Lord. I found a sense of fellowship I had never experienced before and I found myself.

However, as time went on I grew complacent with my faith and I was no longer growing in my faith. It wasn’t until I was invited by a friend to attend a talk where everything changed for me once more. The theme of this talk was to Seek Discomfort. It really struck me because I learned that we shouldn’t be content with just maintaining a relationship with the Lord and that we should actively seek out to strengthen our relationship with the Lord and our faith despite what fear or discomfort we may have with pursuing a deep and intimate relationship with God.

By going on mission, my goal is to Seek Discomfort by trying to strengthen and grow my relationship with God. Mission will also help me fulfill my duty as a Catholic. As Mark 16:15 says, “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” So, I ask that you would please consider donating to me and the rest of the Belize mission trip team either financially or through prayer. Thank you for supporting my team and I, and together we can spread the word of the Lord and build strong Catholic communities though mission. God Bless.
