Hello!

My name is Keelin Kennedy and I am currently in my second year of Physical Literacy at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. I was born and raised in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. I moved to Calgary to pursue a post secondary degree and continue playing soccer. In my spare time I love playing all sports, spending time outdoors, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends!

Growing up, I was raised in a protestant household. We talked about God and I knew He was important, so I would pray before bed and as a family we would occasionally go to church on Sundays. I started attending a Catholic school in grade 6 and my favourite class grew to be religion because all the information I was learning was, for the most part, new. Fast-forwarding to October of my grade 11 year, I was invited by a friend to a Catholic weekend retreat called “Search”. At this point of my life I was not “searching” for anything else. I was very happy with the life that I was living. It was at this retreat that my life was radically changed. I had never felt God’s love so closely and personally, and I wanted to learn more about who God was. I was always fascinated by the Catholic Church, so I decided to join RCIA where I fell more in love with the mass and the tradition of the Church. I was brought into the Church and confirmed Easter 2017, and I can assure that it has been the best decision of my life.

Moving cities, entering university, and beginning my life being Catholic was a scary time for me. I knew that I needed good community to keep me rooted in my faith and constantly pushing me to grow in my relationship with Jesus. Having CCO on campus has been such a blessing and has taught me how I can grow personally in my relationship with God, as well as share the beauty of my faith with others. This year, leading friends and teammates in faith studies, I have grown in zeal to tell as many people as I can about the joy that a life with Christ can bring you.

I feel extremely humbled to be apart of the team travelling to Cameroon this May! I am so excited to be working with university students and within parishes to help build leaders for the renewal of the world.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my mission profile. I prayerfully and humbly ask for your support on this mission, both through your financial donations and prayers for myself and the team. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.

God bless!
Keelin Kennedy
