Hello!
My name is Melia Wong, but everyone calls me Mia. By the time I am on mission to Rome, I would have just graduated from Simon Fraser University majoring in Psychology. I like dancing, reading, music, having spiritual conversations, and sharing my faith with others. I love exploring unfamiliar places, meeting new people, and learning new things. Most importantly, I love Jesus and want to share this love with everyone! Throughout the past 2 years with CCO, I’ve came to terms with my Catholic identity. From my conversion, I realized that growing in holiness and mission stem from my own personal relationship with God. I have complete trust in the Lord that He has called me to be a missionary disciple to evangelize to all His people.

I can’t wait for this mission, and I can’t wait to share the love and joy that this mission brings with you! Why do I want to be on Mission?

After my conversion, my heart yearned for everyone to experience this love of God, to have this personal relationship with Jesus. It wasn’t until this past December that I decided to act on that yearning and apply for this mission to Rome. I was feeling hesitant about what the Lord was truly calling me to. However, at Spring Retreat 2025 in March, I heard the Lord tell me, “GO and make disciples of all nations”. I responded to that call with such a big “YES”. I will go out and share the good news in the heart of the Jubilee Year!!
