Owen Y.

My name is Owen Yang and I am a fourth year student studying computer science at Carleton University. I really enjoy doing physical activity such as sports like basketball or soccer, or just getting a nice workout in. Some other hobbies of mine include playing my guitar and I’ve been getting into rock climbing recently.

Growing up faith was not a big part of my life actually and for the majority of my life I would actually consider myself agnostic. That all changed during my third year of university where I was looking for some changes in my life, and CCO reached out to me and asked if I wanted to take a faith study. I said yes and it was the best decision of my life. Throughout that year, my faith journey was very up and down until Fall 2024, where I made the personal choice to truly put Jesus at the center of my life. From then on, I’ve been called to get baptized, to go on mission and spread my faith.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

Ever since committing to Jesus and putting him at the center of my life, I’ve felt so much joy, comfort, and security come into my life. Jesus has truly revealed to me all of the blessings he has given me in my life and I’ve become more grateful, calm, and overall happy ever since my conversion. Because of the things he has done for me, I feel like it would be selfish of me to keep it all to myself, so I’d like to be on this mission to share Jesus’s love and blessings to all who are willing to receive it.
