My Story

My name is Riley. I am a second year university student in Saskatoon, though I’m probably done my second year by the time you’re reading this. I was studying computer science, but due to a particularly unfortunate computer science class, I am now studying math. Maybe it was fortunate, because saying “I study mathematics” sounds much cooler. I still love computer science, though, and in my free time I enjoy working on personal coding projects. Aside from that, I have two cats, their names are Eclipse and Ginja Ninja, and I hope they do not miss me too much while I’m in Rome.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

There are a lot of things I’d like to do this summer that would be a lot less stressful than preparing for mission. I’d really love to spend the summer working a simple job, staying in my comfort zone, not asking people for money, and not worrying about whether I’ll be able to the impact the people I meet on mission. But it’s always tempting to choose what is easy over what God is calling me to. I’ve been docile and chosen what is easy for too long, and now God’s call is louder than ever.
