Hello Everyone! My name is Sabina and I want to express my deepest gratitude for your time in coming to know a little bit more about me. I was born in Cartagena, Colombia, but have lived in Calgary for about 17 years. I enjoy going on family road trips to the Rockies, taking walks with my cute little dog Tommy, and most importantly, spending time with the Lord Jesus in prayer and fellowship. I am a huge fan of coffee, matcha, and all kinds of sweet desserts, especially tiramisu. I am passionate about learning new languages and traveling around the world because I love experiencing how different cultures, beliefs, and lifestyles play a big part in how individuals interact within a diverse environment. This has inspired me to minor in French language and culture and take an international branch of business administration at Mount Royal University in Calgary.

A little bit about my walk with Jesus is that it began over a year ago as I was getting involved with CCO at my campus. I grew up being Catholic, but I never really understood the sacrificial love that Jesus offered through his life, death, and resurrection. After taking CCO’s faith study, I felt the presence of Jesus in my life so profoundly, which made me realize how much I needed Him in every aspect of my life. I am so thankful that Jesus saved me because my life has been much more fulfilling, as I now live for Him and not for the world.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

In the past year, I have felt a huge calling to live out a missionary identity in Christ. I believe that going on this mission will not only help me to discern this calling, but also allow me to grow in faith, boldness and strength to share the gospel. I would love to be on this mission to witness how the lives of others can be changed through Jesus, just as mine has also changed through Him. It is also the jubilee year, which makes it even more exciting to participate in this mission as the community of Christ becomes pilgrims of hope for the renewal of this world.
