Hello everyone! My name is William Tran and I am currently in the first year of my Masters Program at Queen’s University. I was born and raised in Belleville, Ontario. For hobbies, I like to play sports (especially basketball!), I love to sing and dance, make new friends, but especially praise Our Lord through the sacraments!

The Catholic faith has been an integral part of my life, however, only by virtue of my parents’ faith. I went to weekly Sunday masses, I received all of the sacraments and attended Catholic schools all my life. However, I did not understand what it meant to really be Catholic; I was a blind sheep who felt no longing for my shepherd, Jesus Christ.

It was not until I went to a Catholic retreat the summer after my grade 8 year, called Journey To The Father, where I finally felt a visceral connection with Jesus. It was there where I realized that God had an unconditional love for me.

Once I moved to Queen’s University for my first year, I actively sought out the Newman House Catholic Chaplaincy on campus to further feed the ember of faith burning within me, which was also where I was fortunate enough to meet CCO. Ever since my first encounter, the fire of the Holy Spirit within me grew rampant and I have been very active in CCO and Newman outreach events. My involvement has ranged from helping out at outreach booths during first week, either being on the outreach team or giving my testimony at Night Fevers, serving as one of the Newman House executive members, and completed all of the CCO faith studies. However, the most rewarding experience I have had from CCO was leading my own Discovery faith studies, as the Lord was able to use me as a tool to lead others His Truth.

It has been a cumulation of all of these factors, earnest encouragement from friends and missionaries, as well as much prayerful discernment that has led me to accepting this mission to Honduras. The very thought that I will be doing the works of the apostles in travelling to witness to lost souls, or those that have gone astray, is truly heart-warming yet mind boggling at the same time.

I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting my mission financially and spiritually, in order to allow me to witness to those poor in spirit.

Thank you and God bless!
