Being brought up in a hispanic family meant that Catholicism was always part of my upbringing, but like most people brought up in a culturally Catholic culture, it didn’t mean that Christ held a much more important place in my life than Church on Sundays and the occasional Rosary with my mom. In university, as I tried to navigate the different ideologies and pressures that society puts on people, I found myself really struggling with my faith; not because I didn’t believe in God but rather in in feeling worthy of redemption and mercy because I knew I was a sinner. It was this struggle that led me to a CCO mission in which I encountered the mercy of God offered to me through the suffering and death of Christ, but also my identity as daughter of the King brought about through Jesus’ resurrection. From then on, I have continuously searched to grow in my relationship with Christ, knowing that even though I’m still a sinner, mercy is always offered to me and that accepting the beautiful and free gift of salvation is a decision I get to make every single day for the rest of my life.

Through my last few years with CCO, I have had the privilege of working on campus at the UofS evangelizing but also training student leaders to be missionary disciples in their every day lives with friends, family, coworkers, classmates and within their parishes. I have also had the opportunity to be a part of a number of missions and through this I have been able to witness the heart these students have for the world and their desires to reach the ends of the earth with the Gospel message. I have currently transitioned from campus to the Missions & Events department, and I am very excited to be more involved with organizing and planning missions.

ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for the hearts of all students on campus, whether they will be hearing the Gospel for the first time or are students leaders stepping outside of their comfort zones to reach out to others. As well, pray for al of the missionaries out on our university campuses, that they may receive the graces and strength needed to accomplish the work The Lord has called them to.

We are full-time lay missionaries dedicated to the proclamation of the Gospel.
