I grew up in Toronto, Ontario (the actual Toronto part of the city), and became a member of the Catholic Church at the age of 5. I continued to be raised in the Catholic faith through receiving the Sacraments and my enrollment in the Catholic school system. Yet, I still had a lot of questions about Catholicism and where that fit into my life. In my first year of university, I was searching for a faith-filled community because, growing up, I was used to being in a Catholic setting. And during that time, I discovered CCO on my campus! Despite coming from a non-practicing family, I came to realize how important it was to attend Mass and have a personal relationship with Jesus.
It was at World Youth Day 2016, in Poland, when Pope Francis challenged those in attendance to not remain “couch Catholics”, which inspired me to go back to Canada and spread the Gospel on university campuses. CCO’s faith studies have challenged me to become more active in my faith and ultimately led me to answering the call to become a missionary.
I will be serving the movement as a campus missionary at the University of British Columbia (UBC). I’ve only been to B.C. twice, but I’m very excited to start reaching out to students with my team in a new city and province!
Please pray for:
- the students I will be reaching out to on the UBC campus
- for my team members and other CCO missionaries/staff so that they are able to carry out their ministry to its fullest potential
- for the perseverance and trust in God in times of desolation (difficult times) as I begin support raising this summer
