I grew up Catholic, but before I had a personal relationship with God, going to Church was an obligation because “that’s what you do when you’re Catholic.” I viewed God as The Being that created everything, but I didn’t know Him. He felt very distant and detached from life. My view of God began to change when I became an altar server. He wasn’t a far-off, being with unlimited power – He was truly present before me in the Eucharist. And I wasn’t just “attending” Mass anymore – I was serving Jesus. I grew to love going to Mass, and a personal relationship with Jesus started to blossom.
As a teenager, I felt called to discern religious life. I wrestled with this calling for over a year before I accepted God’s will, gave up my dreams, and surrendered my life to Him. That decision brought a wealth of freedom and peace to my life. A couple of months later, however, God revealed that I was not called to be a nun. In hindsight, I realize that this was Jesus going to great lengths to ask me to give my complete yes to Him, and place Him at the center of my life.
I led a couple of faith studies towards the end of my time at college, and witnessing others encounter Jesus and engage in the Gospel flooded my heart with an indescribable joy. I began to discern working for CCO, so I prayed, “Here I am Lord, send me.” God answered my prayer!
As a campus missionary at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, NS, my mission is to bring Christ to those who don’t know Him, help save souls, and build up God’s kingdom, all for His glory.
ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for the lost! Jesus left the 99 to seek the 1 lost sheep, and I ask for prayer and guidance to bring the lost to the Good Shepherd. Please pray that they will know just how much Jesus loves them.
