This year, Anna and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary. We have added 2 little ones to the family: Zoe and her little brother Jude.

I first encountered the presence of God in childhood. During high school and university, I gradually withdrew from the Lord. But, after graduation, in a moment of desperation borne out of suffering, I repented and surrendered everything to His Name. It has been about 7 years since I put Jesus back at the center of my life, and there is no greater adventure than living radically in the Providence of God!

I am currently serving in my 7th year as the Team Leader at Queen’s University, and my 9th year as a missionary with CCO. Every year brings new highlights, but of the most recent was a foreign mission trip to Mexico City. This was a ten day trip in February that included opportunities to evangelize in Catholic schools; outreach to disadvantaged youth living on the streets; many times of prayer and pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This trip renewed within me a desire to reach the world with the Christian gospel – to love all of God’s children with my whole heart!

One of the most amazing things I’ve seen as a missionary is the number of young people who want to become Catholic. Being a cradle Catholic myself, conversion to our faith has always been a curiosity for me. But it’s been one of the ways God has proven to me over and over that he is real, and that he is calling people to himself. Personally, I’ve stood at the altar with 3 young men who’ve chosen to enter the Catholic Church. Every year that we’ve been here, CCO missionaries have been sponsors or God parents for young people at Queen’s!

Being a full-time missionary has allowed me to discover and activate my strengths. It has also forced me to confront my weaknesses. Above all, God has helped me desire personal excellence in my life of faith and mission, and to work toward it each day – even if my success is only incremental!
