As I begin my journey as a full-time missionary, I have been reflecting on Luke 15:18, “I will get up and go to my Father”. This verse continually moves me, not only as a command, but because of the Fatherly nature of our God. The confidence of being His daughter, enables me to know that I can do all things in and through Him.

I did not always know or feel the presence of my Father. I first met CCO when I was a student at the University of Ottawa. Born and raised Catholic, in a faithful home, I knew the value of the Church and its teachings, but I never grasped the “why”. Taking the first faith study, Discovery, I learned in the most clear and simple way that we were made for relationship with God, sin destroyed that relationship, but that Jesus came and restored it- all I had to do was choose Him. Placing Christ at the center of my life was the start of discovering what it means to be a daughter- nearly six years ago!

Since graduating, I continue to choose Christ daily. In this current season of life I feel called to, get up and go to my Father, and lead others to Him as well.

This upcoming year I will be a Campus Missionary at Ryerson University. I am excited to work with students who have yet to experience the love of our Father, who patiently awaits His children’s return. CCO provided me the opportunity to learn what that meant in my own life, and now provides me with the opportunity to learn what it could mean in other students lives.
