There’s a world of a difference between knowing about God and actually knowing God. Growing up, I believed God was good, but He mostly felt distant and impersonal. Although I’ve been Catholic my whole life, my participation in Church activities were largely cultural and didn’t move beyond Sunday mass, volunteer work, and a short stint in my local parish’s youth group. Faith was a nice thing to have, but with little understanding of my personal reasons for believing, I slowly began to question its relevance in my life.
Fortunately, by God’s grace, I was introduced to CCO in my first year at Ryerson University. The people I met in the community radiated a unique joy and confidence that I had never encountered before! Their warm hospitality and joyful witness opened my eyes to the beauty of a life of faith, and motivated by love, they generously shared the secret of their joy: Jesus Christ. After learning about the truth of Jesus’ sacrifice and intimate love for me and deciding to place Him at the centre of my life, everything has changed! I now have a reason for my “why” and ever since my decision to follow Him, my life has been nothing short of an amazing adventure!
Knowing God personally has provided me with fulfillment, hope, and everlasting joy. And I am beyond excited to join CCO this upcoming January in helping to provide the same opportunities for others to encounter Christ and receive this wonderful gift of faith.
ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for the health and well-being of my family; the ongoing sanctification of my friends; and for the hearts of those who do not know Jesus or do not know Him well enough. And please pray that I may grow in greater trust and docility in the Lord.
Please be assured that I am praying for you also!
