Kylie Buchan

In university I had become so out of touch with reality, especially during the pandemic. This led to a lot of questions about life and eventually discovering the Catholic faith. I started going to Mass, took CCO Faith Studies and confided in people I knew could answer my questions. It was a random day in October, when I was still feeling confused, I went for a drive and had a true conversation with Jesus for the very first time. I knew in that moment, that the reason my heart was so empty, was because I did not have Christ in it. Two days later I boldly invited Christ into the center of my life, and entered the Catholic Church later that year.

My Mission

Since entering the Church I have found a deep heart for the lost. This has looked different over the years, but something I have grown to be confident in, is the idea that everyone’s role in ministry is important, not just the ‘upfront’ missionaries. The joy of my mission lies in the organizational details, which is why I have landed on the Events team. It brings me a great excitement to be able to be part of a team that can organize events, like Rise Up, to foster an encounter with Jesus.
