I am the youngest of six children. My father grew up Catholic and my mom was welcomed into the Church before they were married. My family is from Surrey, British Columbia, and still live within four hours of our family home, from Kelowna to New Westminster.

As I grew up, faith was a big part of my family. We prayed together before every meal, at night before bed, and would attend mass as a family. After I entered high school I continued to attend on Sunday, but I did not live my faith beyond that one hour a week. It wasn’t until a friend took the time to answer the questions I had about the Lord, and what it meant to live the Catholic Faith beyond just Sunday mass that I started to grow closer to Jesus. It was this encounter, and my friends openness to meet one-on-one, that I have now placed God at the centre of my life.

My call to staff became clear during a mission trip during the summer of 2018 when I felt God calling me to become a Missionary. I hadn’t been involved with CCO in university, but was introduced to the organization through a presentation at my parish, St Matthew’s, that was given by Eric Chow, the Western Regional Director. There happened to be an opening in his office, and from Fall 2018 to Spring 2019 I worked as his Administrative Assistant. Through this I learned more about the mission and the deep need for what CCO provides to university students, and I knew I wanted to be involved in that way.

I am now a campus missionary at Carleton University in Ottawa. As the only male missionary, I will be leading men’s ministry on campus. I am excited to share the Gospel and accompany individuals to a fuller relationship with Christ.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

For the movement at Carleton, that students hearts will be opened to the rich love of the Father, and that they may open the door to allow the Holy Spirit to work within them.

For the overall success of CCO, both on and off of campuses this year, and for the future growth of our mission this coming year.

That I may continue to follow God’s path for me, trusting fully in his divine providence.
