My Story

I never fell away from the church. Most of my friends from high school and university did, and for a long time, I was proud of myself for never wavering in my faith. However, it was through meeting CCO that I learned that I had it all wrong.

In Luke 15, Jesus tells the parable of the Lost Sheep. He says, “Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost!’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”

To really know Jesus is to know his heart. For the first time, Jesus shifted my gaze to all of the people around me who did not know how much they were loved by Him. Instead of being proud of myself for staying in the church, my heart broke – with his – for all those who wandered away. After going on a summer mission with CCO, I realized that there is nothing I want to spend my life doing except bringing people back into a relationship with Jesus – a relationship that has brought me so much joy!

ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for “the lost sheep” that I will meet this year, and for “the lost sheep” in your life, that they will know the Father’s deep and personal love.
