I’m the daughter of two former CCO Missionaries, so faith has always been a part of my life. My family taught me to pray and trust God, and encouraged me in my Catholic faith. Even so, my faith was an impersonal and intellectual one, consisting of mumbling memorized prayers, reading saint stories, and daydreaming through Sunday mass. I knew a lot about God, but I didn’t know him personally.

When I was in grade 3, my mom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. I was terrified by the sudden possibility of losing her. I felt helpless and alone, so I turned to the only thing I knew how to do: prayer. But this time, instead of hastily skipping through memorized prayers, I began praying daily and in my own words. It wasn’t eloquent, but it was heartfelt, and it changed everything. The more I prayed, the more I discovered that this God I knew so much about wanted a personal and loving relationship with me. It changed everything.

I got involved with CCO the summer after I graduated through a Missions Trip to World Youth Day Krakow 2016. It was a life-changing experience for me. The mission challenged me to take my faith to the next step by stepping outside of my comfort zone and boldly sharing the Good News of the Gospel with my peers. I used the skills CCO taught me to continue to run youth ministry at my home parish in Regina until this past year, when I felt the call to join CCO and work with university students full time.

I will be working as a Campus Missionary at Dalhousie University this year. in Halifax. I am beyond excited to see what God has in store with this new adventure and I know he will do great things!

Please pray for me as I continue to form a support-team and prepare to help students encounter Christ in a personal way.
