Teny Thankachan

Hello there! My name is Teny, and I’m currently a student at Algonquin, pursuing a course in marketing. Originally from Dubai, I moved to Ottawa in January 2024.
My journey to finding Christ started in a pretty religious household. When I was around 12, I went on this late-night thinking spree, I thought it would be a great idea to trace all things to their beginnings. You know, like how the Earth formed from planetesimals, which came from space stuff, which all started with the Big Bang, Big Bang from God and then..God from? A partial rip in the God material. Over the following months, that partial tear expanded into a complete rupture, and I drifted away from my faith, ceasing to attend church.
But a few years later, on a quiet Good Friday afternoon, I had an intense dream. It felt like I was facing the wrath of God. When I woke up, I was crying uncontrollably. That experience hit me hard. For weeks afterward, I felt a deep repentance come over me and I went back to church. From then to now, here I am, saying yes to Jesus every day.

My Mission

Phil 1:12 “I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.” In my role at CCO, I feel like Philippians 1:12 perfectly captures what I experience every day. Just like Paul, I see that everything happening in my job truly serves to advance the gospel. I view myself as more than just a marketing team member; I see myself as a servant of Christ and His Church. Whether I’m crafting social media campaigns, promoting events, or creating engaging content, each task is an opportunity to spread hope and salvation.

What really gets me excited is knowing that every effort I put in contributes to advancing God’s Kingdom. It’s not just about numbers or metrics; it’s about reaching hearts and souls with the message of Christ’s transformative love. This isn’t just a job to me; it’s a calling—a chance to make a difference in the lives of others and draw them closer to the One who can truly change everything.
