About
While I was on a CCO mission this summer in Montreal, I was able to spend time with Jesus in prayer every day. The joy I experienced in prayer was transformative. Now, all I want to do is proclaim him to others, so they can experience his joy as well.
– Constance Lavergne, CCO Montreal Mission Participant
Arriving on campus in my first year of university, I realized just how lost I felt. I wasn’t even sure who I was anymore. Through the friendship of a CCO missionary on campus, I began to recognize Jesus pursuing me in my life. He was trying to show me who I really was: a daughter of God. At a night of Eucharistic adoration, I encountered Jesus in a personal way. I have since become Catholic, and I am living out of my newfound identity.
– Cassandra Werkman, Student at Brock University
Jesus tells us that a wise man builds his house on rock and a foolish man on sand. I came to see that my practice of faith was often just habitual and not dependent on the person of Jesus. Through a CCO faith study at my parish, I was reminded that a personal relationship with Jesus is the foundational rock on which my faith must be built. I’m now leading a faith study and helping others build their foundation on Jesus.

On CCO™ campuses across Canada, Jesus’ name is being proclaimed and hearts are responding. The testimonies highlighted above are just three of the thousands of others whose lives were transformed this year by the clear and simple proclamation of the Gospel, and the Name of Jesus, shared in love.
Has Jesus has changed your life? When you hear His Name, what does it spark in your heart? For some, it’s joy. For others, it may be uncertainty, or even fear.
For over thirty-four years, CCO has dedicated itself to making the Name of Jesus known. We believe there is power in His Name. From the moment the Archangel Gabriel first announced it to Joseph, the Name of Jesus has made an indelible impact on the course of human history.
“[A]n angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “[…]She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21)
St. Joseph had the special privilege of being the first to utter the Name that is above all names. Two thousand years later, Jesus’ Name still rings as powerfully as it did in the first moment of its utterance. Help us continue to speak Jesus’ Name by partnering with us in this year’s Founder’s Appeal.
Our work is made possible through the prayers and financial support of our donors. Your gift allows our missionaries to share Jesus on campuses across Canada from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland. More recently, CCO’s ministry has expanded to include coaching parishes and dioceses across North America and beyond. We invite all people into a personal encounter with Jesus, and work to build them up to become leaders for the renewal of the world.
Our passion comes from lived experience: an encounter with Jesus radically moves hearts; our own included. We long for others to know the mercy and peace of Jesus that changed our lives. The easiest way to start that conversation is to talk about him as a friend and to not be afraid to say his Name with love and reverence.
This year we’ve set a goal of $100,000 to support our work in 2023. We invite you today to make a gift and join with us in this mission for the renewal of the Canadian Church and the world.
