Give the gift of stocks and securities

A gift of stocks or securities is a tax-effective way to transform your assets into immediate and significant support of CCO’s mission to proclaim the Gospel.

By donating publicly traded securities, you may receive significant tax advantages, including the elimination of capital gains tax in Canada, while making a meaningful gift to help form leaders for the renewal of the world.

For Donors in Canada

Canadian residents can make a gift of stocks or securities through CanadaHelps, which processes securities donations on behalf of Canadian charities.

To begin your gift:

  1. Visit Canada Helps
  2. Search for Catholic Christian Outreach and open our charity page.
  3. Select Donate Securities.
  4. Follow the prompts to provide:
    • the name of the security,
    • the number of shares you wish to donate,
    • information from your broker or investment platform,
    • and your personal information so CanadaHelps can issue your charitable tax receipt.

To help us thank you properly and keep our records complete, we kindly ask that you give CanadaHelps permission to share your contact information with CCO.

For Donors Outside Canada

Donors outside Canada may be able to make a gift of stocks or securities through TrustBridge Global. TrustBridge enables donors in many countries to support CCO while, where applicable, receiving a charitable tax receipt according to the tax laws of their country.

To begin your gift:

  1. Visit TrustBridge
  2. Select the country you are giving from.
  3. Search for Catholic Christian Outreach Canada Inc. and select it as your chosen charity.
  4. Under Contribution Type, select Other Assets.
  5. Enter the estimated value of your gift and select the appropriate currency.
  6. In the Contribution Purpose field, indicate where you would like your gift directed by entering:
    • the name of the missionary you wish to support, or
    • the name of the fund, such as CCO National for general ministry support.
  7. Follow the remaining prompts to provide the required details and complete your contribution.
