Hi! My name is Alisa and I’m a third year student at the University of Calgary studying Health Sciences. You’ll often find me at the dance studio, out and about with friends, or trying out the newest coffee shop!

Growing up Catholic, I had always known of Jesus, but didn’t have a true relationship with Him. It wasn’t until my Grade 12 year of high school that I was able to encounter Jesus in a personal way that completely changed how I viewed my faith and consequently changed the course of my life. After joining CCO in my first year of university, I was able to fully experience what it’s like to live out the joys of a Christ-centered life, filled with fellowship and mission. Walking alongside the most incredible people and allowing God to use me to reveal Himself to others has brought me fulfillment unlike anything else, and I have built memories that will last me a lifetime.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

Through becoming involved in the mission on campus as a faith study leader, I’ve been able to experience how truly fulfilling it is to live out our identity as missionary disciples. I’ve been able to witness firsthand lives changed after encountering Christ, which has given me such a heart for the lost and desire for others to know Jesus in a personal way. Having experienced how life-changing a personal relationship with Jesus is, I can’t help but long for others to experience that same freedom. I’ve seen Jesus multiply my “yes” to Him in ways that I never could have imagined and can’t wait to see how He continues to use this “yes” I’m giving Him to mission!
