My Story
My name is Ariena, I am nineteen years old and a part-time business student from the university of Saskatchewan. I currently live in Saskatoon where I work, attend school, and spend time with people. I am a published author, and in my free time I write and work on my series of picture books for kids, which I write and illustrate myself. I am so excited to have the opportunity this year to go on my first mission trip, and step out of my comfort zone to encounter the Lord in a new way.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
Going on this mission is important to me because I spent a lot of time this year praying about the Lord’s will in my life, what He is calling me to, and how I can serve Him best. When discerning if was being to go on mission this year, I felt the Lord prompting me to step outside of my comfort zone and apply for this mission, because it will give me the opportunity to grow with Him personally and be filled, and then turn around and fill others as well. Both are so necessary in our faith life, and I feel that by doing this mission, I will become equipped to see Him in others and lead others to Him.
What attracts me to this mission is the fact that we get to be in a space where the people before us died in their efforts to get others to know the Lord. This is so profound to me. I also am quite attracted to the idea of meeting with pilgrims, hearing their stories, and learning about their relationships with the Lord, and having the opportunity to evangelize in a new way that I have never done before.
