Hi! 🙂

My name is Carley, I am 28 years old, and I live in Kinburn, on the outskirts of Ottawa’s west end. I studied business management in school, and since then, I have had a few business ventures, like starting a candle business, buying a paddleboard shop, and opening a restaurant. Life had been interesting, to say the least. Currently, I work as a colour analyst in Carp – and I absolutely love it!

I enjoy reading and learning, spending time with family and friends, going on side quests, and traveling the world. My most recent adventure was renovating a small bus into a camper – and traveling through the southern USA for three months solo. I love seizing new opportunities to grow, push myself out of my comfort zone, and enjoy what life has to offer.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

What’s funny is I actually did not choose this mission for myself; God did. I was always someone who disliked hiking, and for a long time, accepted that I would never change. Nevertheless, I have felt a call to go on mission for about a year now, and every time I would apply for a mission trip, the door would shut. I would hear the call, apply again, and the door would shut again. I eventually started to doubt whether I was hearing God’s call correctly. A few months later, I received an acceptance email out of the blue to a mission I never applied to: The Camino Mission…to walk for 7 days. Holy irony. So that brings us here, to me saying yes to and trusting in God’s will to grow me in a way I would never have chosen for myself.

Not only do I look forward to the many hearts that will be changed through our evangelization efforts, but I also look forward to the great plans God has for my own on the Way of Saint James.
