Cole S.

Hi, my name is Cole Simon, and I’m a first-year music student at NSCC in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I love playing ,talking about music and jamming out with friends, and using music to help others encounter and come to know Jesus in personal way. Outside of school play and coach baseball, enjoy watching movies and anime ,(Lord of the Rings is my favorite). Also like spending time by the ocean, in nature, or playing games like cards with friends.

I grew up Catholic but but didn’t really to know Jesus personally until I meet . CCO. This was especially at a Fall Retreat in 2023 and Rise Up the same year. This experience changed my life, bringing me real peace and joy and a fire .and helping me put Him at the center. I serve as a youth group co-leader and on the worship team at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. I am passionate about growing in my faith, serving others, and helping others experience the same love God gives everyone.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

At Rise Up 2024, a spark was ignited in me that turn into fire the Holy Spirit placed in my heart. I felt called to step out in courage, like Peter walking on water, trusting Jesus even in life’s storms. I want others to know His love and experience the peace, joy, and strength my faith has given me. Music has been a powerful way for me to connect with God and share His love, and I feel called to use that gift and many other to help all encounter Him. I’m inspired by the courage of the Canadian Martyrs, who boldly shared the Gospel, and I want to live out that same boldness. My desire to share God’s love has grown exponentially, and I’ve seen the Holy Spirit work through me to impact others. I believe we love because God loved first, and I want others to experience that same love.

CCO has given me a life changing community. As I started university, I was seeking a group to grow deeper in my faith, and that’s when I meet CCO. I’ve made friends who I talk to and walk alongside me in Christ, encouraging me to grow and serve. Going on mission feels like a chance to step out in faith, share my story and the gospel , help others encounter Jesus . It is God’s plan that is always better than our own, and I am excited about what God will do with me this summer.
