Hello! My name is Emily Nguyen and I am a Psychology student at Carleton University in Ottawa. A few fun facts about me: I enjoy travelling, I’m really into karate and singing is one of my passions. But above all, it is my love for Christ that makes me who I am. Growing up, I struggled immensely with my mental health, but it was in that battle that I found Christ. Or rather, it was in that battle that He found me. It was in my shame, despair and doubt that His mercy pierced my heart so deeply I could not help but be changed. This radical decision to follow Christ later led me towards discovering the fullness of the faith in His Church. The tenderness and depth of God’s love, as well as the beauty and riches of the Catholic faith are what continue to shape who I am.

Catholic Christian Outreach has been an immense blessing in providing me with the best community and giving me these opportunities to share the faith that sustains me! I have a deep love for the mission and I am beyond excited to take this next step to continue building up His Kingdom here on earth.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

I see this mission to Ireland as an opportunity to give of myself as Christ has given of Himself for me. I know what it is to live a life distant from the Father and I know what it is to live a life in communion with Him. I am convicted of my duty to walk with others not simply as a ‘missionary,’ but also as a friend and a sister. I desire for all to know Christ not simply in word but also in deed and truth. On this mission, I hope to have the privilege of intentionally accompanying others as a loving witness to know and love He who loves best!
