Hey! I’m Erick, I am currently a 21 year old university student studying Geology at Mount Royal University in Calgary Alberta. I have lived in Calgary all my life, It’s truly my home. I can’t imagine living somewhere that doesn’t have a view of the mountains like we do here. I am currently in my third year at MRU, my pursuit of Geology sums up mostly who I am, I love nature and the outdoors, especially hiking and rock climbing! I love to explore the world and see all the wonders it creates. During my time studying at MRU I encountered CCO, I had an encounter with Jesus Christ and made the decision to become a practicing Catholic Christian.

Why do I want to be on Mission?

While taking faith studies in CCO, I met some amazing people that genuinely wanted me to truly know Jesus. I eventually had a spiritual encounter that caused a drastic conversion in my life and I haven’t looked back. After seeing the beautiful real life conversions of the people around me and my own conversion, I wanted to step in and say yes to the call God gave me to try out being a faith study leader myself. This was a decision I will cherish for the rest of my life. By saying yes I saw how God works to encounter people and cause life changing experiences. This strengthened my faith, and my desire to continue giving my all to God. This is one of those calls, to serve him and to do what others said yes to in the past, causing them to witness the conversion that happened within me. If God can change the lost person I once was through a handful of people who simply said yes to God, I can hope that he can work through me to do the same to others.
