My Story
Hey everyone! My name is Gary. I’m a first-year business student at Brock University, I graduated high school from St. Francis Catholic Secondary School, I live at home in St. Catharines, Ontario, and I’m so excited to be going on mission to Rome! A little bit about myself: I am, for the most part, Canadian/Mexican, but interestingly enough, I was born in the United Arab Emirates. I moved to Canada when I was four, and I’ve been living here ever since. I speak English and Spanish, and love running track and field. I’m actually on the track team at my university. I love to draw, read, and film videos about my life. For the past 10 years or so, I’ve been altar serving at my local Catholic parish, St. Denis, and I love the community at my church by the way. One of my major goals in life is to explore the world and all the many different cultures. There’s so much to see and learn, and I can’t wait to experience it all, God willing.
Why do I want to be on Mission?
I want to go to Rome because I feel God is calling me to join a greater cause than myself, and that is, to make disciples of all nations. I believe going on this mission will help me grow in my faith, but more importantly, let others know the word of God, and let their hearts be touched by His incredible love. One of the greatest blessings I have ever received is the love of Jesus entering my heart, and next to that, there’s nothing more beautiful than to lead others to the same experience. The Lord’s love is not reserved for the few, but for everyone on earth. If I can go to Rome and change just one person’s life with the help of God’s grace, it would mean the whole world to me. I love Christ, and more than anything, I want to do His will, answer His call, and help as many souls in need of His love.
