Hey everyone! My name is Michelle Joseph, I’m in my third year at Carleton University, in our capital, Ottawa! I love going on hikes, camping, swimming and just being in the great outdoors! I’ve lived in 4 countries and been to over 10, soon to be 11 with Ireland! Some of my interests include aviation, the arts, and sports! A fun fact about me is that I got my private pilot’s license before I got my full driver’s license. Why learn to drive on the highway when you can just fly over it?

Why do I want to be on Mission?

At Rise Up 2023, during Praise and Worship, I heard everyone singing “we’ll carry Your Name, to the ends of the Earth” and I felt God calling me to more, to go to the ends of the earth. I applied to Mission that year, and got in, however, I was unable to go that summer. Later on, as I was leading one of my faith study sessions, reflecting on the story of The Prodigal Son, it was pointed out how God always calls us back no matter where we’ve gone and it struck me that I felt the same way about Mission. No matter where I went, I could always feel the tug at my heart, calling me back.

Everyone that knows me would describe me as a huge extrovert, I love meeting new people and will strike up a conversation with anyone! Jesus has changed my life in immeasurable and indescribable ways and I want to share this joy with anyone and everyone I possibly can. It would be selfish of me not to.

When I contemplate my call to Mission, a scripture that always comes to mind is from Acts 20:24, “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me, the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

I ask for your prayers in fulfilling this task, being that, I will finish this race and testify to God’s grace.
