“Hi! My name is Olivia Crummer and I’m a student at the University of Ottawa, where I am finishing my degree in chemistry. In the fall I’ll be starting my teaching degree, and I’m really excited to begin the next step toward becoming a teacher. I’ve lived in Ottawa my whole life, and even though people sometimes say the city is boring, I actually love it here. That said, I also love to travel, especially somewhere warmer than home whenever I get the chance!

Outside of school, music and dance have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been involved in both for as long as I can remember, and I especially love using music as a way to praise the Lord. My faith and my community mean a lot to me, and some of my favourite moments on campus are spent at the CCO lounge getting to know people, sharing conversations, and building friendships. I’m definitely a social butterfly, you can almost always find me chatting with someone new or catching up with friends. I love meeting people, hearing their stories, and being part of a community that supports and encourages each other.”

Why do I want to be on Mission?

“This is my third year with CCO, and it has been an incredible experience for me. Over the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to lead several faith studies, and one of my greatest joys has been walking with other girls as they grow deeper in their faith. Seeing someone encounter Christ in a new way and take the next step in their faith journey is something that never gets old.

I’ve also previously had the opportunity to go on mission to Malta. Bringing the evangelistic skills I’ve been learning to another country was an amazing experience. Seeing firsthand how much impact one meaningful encounter or conversation can have in someone’s life made me even more excited about living a missionary life. With the skills and confidence I’ve gained through CCO, I’m really excited for the opportunity to go to Wales, to continue growing as a missionary, sharing the Gospel, and helping to build up the local church there.”
