D’Arcy Murphy

When I was studying at the University of Ottawa, another student led me through CCO’s first faith study and shared the Gospel with me. I found so much freedom in realizing I did not have to be perfect to earn God’s love. My life changed when I invited Jesus into the centre of my life on November 3rd, 2016. I came to university to study International Development & Globalization – I wanted to make the world a better place. Quickly, I realized that only Jesus can renew the world, and that living life on mission with CCO would be the best way for me to cooperate with His plan.

Since becoming a CCO missionary, I met my wife, Erika. We were married on May 18, 2024. We have one son, named Evan, and are so blessed to be a missionary family.

My Mission

began my missionary career at our headquarters while completing my bachelor’s degree at the University of Ottawa. After graduation, I served for five years on CCO campuses – the University of Victoria (BC), Memorial University of Newfoundland, and Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Now, I’ve returned to HQ to multiply support for our movement of missionary disciples, leading our development operations team. The adventure of living my life for Jesus has taken me coast to coast (a few times now), and it’s such a joy. I never tire of seeing people give God permission and live out the adventure Jesus has for them when they decide to follow Him for the rest of their lives.

ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for university students in Canada, that their hearts would be open to the awesome joy of a relationship with Jesus. Please pray also for the Lord to provide more labourers in the vineyard to share in the joy of missionary life. Finally, please pray for our family to always live for Jesus.
